Sakura Kimono Earrings are one of a kind made from deconstructed (recycled) Japanese obi or kimono fabric that is applied and sealed to a very lightweight wooden back and hung from either sterling silver or gold-filled ear wires.
Artist and designer Donna King gets her inspiration from the love of Japan, their culture and art. While Sakura Earrings are made in the United States, their fabrics are original to Japan where she has traveled. Sometimes vintage Japanese beads highlight the fabric, and on some earrings natural stones and other beads compliment the design. Some of the fabric motifs indicate long live and others indicate happiness.
